World trade center bombing

  • On February 26 1993
  • Terrorist parked a van filled with 1,200 pounds of bombs underneath the twin towers and lit 4 20 foot fuses

Oklahoma city bombing

  • On april 19, 1995 a truck bombing explosion outside Alfred P. Murrah Federal building in Oklahoma city, Oklahoma.
  • 168 people died and hundreds more were injured.
  • The bomb was set off by anti government militant Timothy McVeigh

Rise of osama bin LADEN

  • Osama Bin Laden was born in Riyadh Saudi Arabia in 1957 or 1958.
  • In 1988 Bin Laden created a group called al-Qaida that would focus on terrorism.
  • The al-Qaida were involved in the World trade center bombing in 1993, The attempted assassination of egyptian president Hosni Mubarak in 1995, The bombing of the US national guard training center in Riyadh.

  • On september 11, 2001
  • Terrorist lit a bomb under the twin towers. 6 people died and 1000 died in the explosion.
  • Terrorist hijacked 3 planes 2 hit the world trade centers and 1 hit the pentagon.
  • In total over 3000 people died and over 400 of them were police and firefighters in the world trade center.

  • Their goal was to drive the taliban out of power
  • A total of 3,485 allied troops died including 2,356 american soldiers.
  • The war cost taxpayers about 1 trillion dollars

  • The war started march 2003
  • The us was trying to get rid of Saddam Hussein
  • On November 6, 2006 Hussein was found guilty of crimes against humanity and sentenced death by hanging.
