19TH AMENDMENT
- Guaranteed all American women the right to vote
- Passed by congress on June 4 1919
- Ratified in August 18 1920
- Took years of civil protesting and disobedience to get this bill passed
FLAPPERS
- Often northern, single,young, women
- Partied and drank a lot
- Represented that women could be independent
- Marked a turning point in women's behavior
- Did not accept social norms
GATSBY
- These things relates to Gatsby because more women are becoming more independent in the book.
- Jordan is very independent in the book like flappers were at the time in real life.
