ABOUT ISAC NEWTON
- Born 1642, Died 1727
- Invented Calculus
- Transformed structure of physical science with 3 laws
- Attended Trinity College
- Born in Lincolnshire, England
- Created first functional telescope
The first law of motion states that a object in motion will stay in motion and an object at rest will stay at rest until an opposite force acts upon it .
(Law of inertia)
Newotn's 2nd law states that acceleration is produced when a force acts on a mass. The greater the mass the greater amount of force. (F=ma)
Finally the third law of motion states that for every action there is a equal and opposite reaction.
One of Newton's contribution to science was his new theory on light. His theory was that diffraction was not a new type of refraction. Newton tested this theory in a "Crucial experiment" During this experiment he passed a beam of light through 2 prisms after it passed through the 1st prism at a certain angle it split into a spectrum then recomposed back to white light through the 2nd prism. This had showed that the spectrum is not caused by glass corrupting the light. He had concluded that light is made up of colored particles that combine to appear white. After he introduced the "Color spectrum" he divided it into 7 colors .
