Why do we need to know about volume?

Volume is the amount of space an object takes up.

Real life examples of 3D shapes:

  • cereal box (rectangular prism)
  • can of soup (cylinder)
  • tissue box (cube or rectangular prism)
  • construction cone (cone)
  • kickball (sphere)

How to Play Jeopardy:

  • Team 1 will choose a category
  • Both teams will answer the question
  • First team to buzz in with iPad buzzer will give answer
  • If correct, they choose next question.
  • If incorrect, other teams have chance to answer.

How to Play Jeopardy cont...

  • If correct, points are added to team's total score.
  • If incorrect, points are subtracted to team's total score.
  • All teams start the game with 0 points.
  • Team at the the end with the most points wins!
  • You are able to use your calculator and reference sheet.
