3D Printer Trial begins, installation of printer.

We were lucky enough to be successful in securing a spot in Education Queensland's 3D printer trial.

Upload image into Cubify Draw

One of the apps we found, Cubify draw allowed students to customise 3D printed pieces for their dioramas.

The app allows a photograph from the camera roll to be set as a background. This allows students to easily customise pieces for 3D printing.

The only tricky part of using the app is in the continuous online, if the drawing finger is lifted and returned to the screen the image will disappear. Many students chose to practice on paper first.

Some students also chose files already created on the Thingiverse website such as this rowboat and surf board, perfect for accommodating a little lego figure.
Planning with peers, who would provide what became part of the collaborative process.

Diorama Day

After weeks of planning, we had a diorama day. Four classes, eighty children, 8 adults. All the boxes were prepped before hand, the 3 D printing was done and the materials had been gathered.
