AGRICULTURE

• Egyptians used irrigation systems.
• Heavy ploughs were used to turn over the soil to get the rich nutrients
• Also floods moved the nutrient rich soils in Egypt.
• They grew barley, figs, melons, pomegranates and vines.
• The egyptian used grain to make bread, porridge, and beer.

RELIGION

• Polytheistic-they worshiped over 2,000 deities.
• Amon-Ra and Osiris are the two most important gods.
• Amon-Ra is the sun god and considered the lord if the universe.
• Osiris was the god of the underworld
• Divine Kingship-pharoh was not only king but was a god.

FUN FACTS

• Pharaoh Pepi II would smear naked slaves with honey to attract flies away from him.
• The Egyptians invented cement,irrigation systems, reservoirs,and various techniques to measure food levels.
• Kids were not allowed to wear clothes until they entered their teenage.
• Girls had to wear a dress and boys had to wear skirts.
• The Egyptians considered the Scarab beetle to be a symbol of hope.
