  • Was founded on the banks of the Tiber River
  • Was a safe-haven for the outcasts
  • Culture spread easily

CULTURAL SPREAD

  • Spread through trade
  • Humanist ideas might have done this too
  • Transported by foot, cart, horse, or ship

Humanism is SO Popular!
The culture spread in Rome and the Renaissance made Humanism more popular. More and more people hopped on the bandwagon!

THE REBIRTH
Because 'Renaissance' literally translates into 'rebirth', it implies that it was a rebirth of philosophy.

The Renaissance was the rebirth of Greek and Roman philosophy, which the Renaissance became based off of.

MEDIEVAL VS RENAISSANCE

  • Medieval times were based off of current scholars
  • Renaissance focused on ancient texted
  • Humanist education was the study of humanities
