SEA OF JAPAN

  • has it has almost no tides because of its nearly complete enclosure from the Pacific Ocean
  • The Sea of Japan has no large islands, bays or capes
  • Fishing is the dominant activity in the area
  • There's a big argument about the name, The East Sea is a proposal instead of Sea of Japan
  • There are more than 800 species of aquatic plants due to the dissolved oxygen

KYUSHU

  • Third largest island in Japan
  • Kyushu has a population of 14.5 million people
  • It has eight prefectures: Fukuoka, Saga, Nagasaki, Oita, Kumamoto, Miyazaki, Kagoshima, and Okinawa.
  • The main crops are tobacco, rice, tea, citrus fruits, and sweet potatoes
  • It s composed of a complex system of volcanic ranges

HAUNG HE

  • It is the worlds sixth longest river
  • Has flooded so often that it I'd known as the river of sorrow
  • The rivers worst flood was in 1931, nearly 1 million people died
  • The river has changed course at least five major times
  • It is called the yellow river because of the colour of silts that are carried downstream

ALTAI

  • In Turkic and Mongolia languages the name Altai means "golden mountains"
  • Many animals are found here like deer, reindeer, moose, boar, gazelle, etc
  • Has three subdivisions Soviet Altai, Mongolian, and Gobi Altai
  • Belukha is the highest point at 14,783 feet
  • Various rodents, eagles, hawks, krestels, snow leopards, mountain goats and ram populate it

PLATEAU OF TIBET

  • Has nicknames such as "roof of the world", "Asian water tower", and the "third pole"
  • It is the highest plateau in the world over 4,500 feet
  • It “… is heating up twice as fast as the global average of 1.3 degree F over the past century"
  • has the largest canyon in the world Yarlung Zangbo River Great Canyon
  • Tibet is also one of the regions in the world with the most gorges
