PRESENTATION OUTLINE
5-7 YEAR OLD FOOTBALL TEAM
The most important position is the quarterback. For the quarterback position the best age group is six year olds. They have refined motor skills, so they can understand the game better, and they have hand eye coordination, the most important skill of football. This allows players to catch and throw.
The defensive and offensive line are very important. The offensive line buys time for your offense, and your defensive line takes time away from the other team's offense. The best age group for this position is six year olds because, they have refined muscle coordination which allows them to muscle out opponents.
PUNTERS/KICKERS
- I would choose a seven year old for kicker or punter because at this age they begin to start running and kicking much better than other ages.
Running back, my favorite position. The age group I would choose for running back would be six year olds. They have better running, good physical control and balance, and they can perform twists and turns which are important juking the other team defense.
Corners and safetys have to be smart players, as well as physical players, just like quarterbacks. I would choose a six year old because they have refined motor skills and great hand eye coordination.
Wide receivers are a very important position. Passing is the most used offense. I would choose a six year old for wide receiver because they are good at playing catch and have good hand eye coordination. I know because my cousin is six, and this year his catching and throwing got much better.
I was part of a football team at this age and have firsthand experience.
