METAPHYSICS

• Nature of reality
• Answers the question of "what is?"
• It is a fundemental view of the world around us
• Without an interpretation of the world around us we would not be able to deal with reality

EPISTEMOLOGY

• The study of our method of acquiring knowledge
• Required to determine true from false
• Needed to obtain knowledge pf the world around us
• Reason is out method of gaining knowledge
• A proper epistemology is a rational epistemology

ETHICS

• Deals with proper cause of action for man
• Answers the question "What do I do?"
• Method we use to categorize our values and pursue them
• Flaws in our ethics reduce our ability to be successful in our efforts

LOGIC

• Study of methods used in distinguishing correct from incorrect reasoning
• Knowledge is interrelated by logic
• Forms the fabric of science

AESTHETICS

• Study of value in the arts
• Study of beauty, sublimity, and principles of taste
• Appreciation of the arts
• Unique to humans because of our unique way of thinking
