Is your first chance to make an impression
While not the only important element in your blog, your title is your first chance to make an impression.

Think about your social media postings. Many only contain the blog title, so it had better be attention grabbing right off the bat!

Create the juiciest titles possible!

ACTIONABLE

Blog titles so inspiring, they elicit action
Make sure your blog titles aren't passive. Often, your readers are looking to learn something from reading a blog post.

Your title should convey that readers will benefit from action-oriented takeaways. Use verbs - action words - to position your blig as a must-read.

BE BRIEF

Get right to the point with your blog title
Make your blog title concise and get straight to the point.

Punchy, quirky titles are more intriguing (and more likely to be shared.

Limit your titles to no more than 70 characters. Any more is just too drawn out. You'll lose their interest.

BE CLEAR

Clearly communicate your blog topic right in the title. Avoid being vague.

As yourself, if you read the blog title, would you get a clear indication of what the blog us about. Be objective! If not, go back to the drawing board.

Be confident with your writing
Show your readers you are an authority on the topic you're writing about by using strong, definitive words.

Avoid wishy-washy language and don't be passive.

BE INTRIGUING

Make them say hmmmmm!
Your blog title should make people want to read more. It needs to be intriguing.

Be a bit mysterious but don't sacrifice your blog title's clarity. Impossible you say?

Not so. Here's an example - "Confessions of a Content Marketer". Your audience will know your blog is about content marketing but won't know what your use of the intriguing word "confessions" is all about.
