60'S HIPPIES

HOW IT STARTED

• Hippie culture started in San Francisco
• Soon almost 15000 hippies were living there
• Hippies were a part of a youth movement
• It contained mainly teenagers to 25 year olds
• The word hippie was originaly used for jazz and swing music

BELIEFS

• Hippies and flower children were against warfare, politics
• They also were against politicl andsocial orthodoxy
• They believed in peace, love, and personal freedom

FLOWER CHILDREN

• They started when Billy Ray Williams started to sell paper flowers
• His children wore flowers when selling the flowers
• It eventually became a thing and a lot of hippies moved there
• Everyone wore a flower on some part of their body
• Everyone was happy and didn't want anything to change
