GEORGE WASHINGTON

George Washington was Americas first president of the United States. Washington was in office for two terms and during his terms he did many important things. The single most important thing he did was establish 7 precedents. These precedents were,Neutrality in foreign affairs, 2 term presidency,Use force to enforce the law,Have a financial cabinet, How to address the president,First to be inaugurated and make a inauguration speech.

JOHN ADAMS

John Adams was our second president and he got caught up in the XYZ affair. The XYZ affair was a undeclared naval war between France and the United States. The XYZ affair was caused by French ships taking American ships cargo and sailors. Also the name comes from three french representatives and they didn't know their name so they called them x,y, and z.

THOMAS JEFFERSON

Thomas Jefferson was the third president of the United States and he got caught up in the Louisiana purchase which was a opportunity to double the size of America for 12 million dollars and that was 6 cents an acre which Is very cheap. Jefferson accepted the offer and America was instantly doubled. The person who made the offer was Napoleon and the reason he did this was to get money for a war coming up.

JAMES MADISON

James Madison was the 4th president of the United States and he got caught up in the War of 1812 . This war proved America was its own country because they beat the British a second time. Also this showed the Native Americans that that shouldn't mess around with America. The war started because the French were impressing the American sailors and America didn't like that.

JAMES MONROE

James Monroe was the fifth president of the United States and he got caught up in the Monroe Doctrine. The Monroe Doctrine was a treaty that said any foreign country that tried to interfere with America was a sign of aggression and they would go to war. Also the doctrine said that America would stay out of European affairs and that America would help any other countries that are trying to become a country.

JOHN QUINCY ADAMS

John Quincy Adams was the sixth president of the United States and he got caught up In the American way. The American way was a way that America did things first part of the American way was to establish taxes on people. Second part of the American way was to have a national bank to watch money. Third part of the American way was to have internal improvements like canals and roads.

ANDREW JACKSON

Andrew Jackson was our 7th president of the United States and he got caught up in the Nullification Crisis this was basically the old Great Depression. The reason this happened was because of banning trade with foreign countries and then no merchants could get money and they became poor.
