  • There was no life on land.
  • Ended with extinction.

ORDOVICIAN PERIOd

  • 448-443 million years ago.
  • No life on land.
  • Water- trilobite, algae, brachiopod and squid.

SILURIAN PERIOD

  • 443-416 million years ago.
  • Land- simple plants and bugs.
  • Water- jawfish, brachiopod and jawless fish.
  • Other- when land first came.

DEVONIAN PERIOD

  • 416-360 million years ago.
  • Land- plants, tree and frogs.
  • Water- fish with jaws and trilobite.

CARBONIFEROUS PERIOD

  • 360-300 million years ago.
  • Land- tree and dragonflies.
  • Water- brachiopod, trilobite.
  • The name came from when cowl was formed.

PERMIAN PERIOD

  • 299-251 million years ago.
  • Land- cold blooded mammals, reptiles.
  • Water- brachiopod, algae, fish.
  • Killed over 90% of living things in water and some on land.

TRIASSIC PERIOD

  • 251-200 million years ago.
  • Land- dinosaurs, mammals.
  • Water- sharks, brachiopod and trilobite.

JURASSIC PERIOD

  • 206-144.5 million years ago.
  • Land- reptiles, mammals, plants, birds and dinosaurs.
  • Water- marine reptiles.
  • Ended when asteroid hit Earth.
  • Humid weather.

CRETACEOUS PERIOD

  • 142-65 million years ago.
  • Land- flowering flowers, plants and insects.
  • Water- fish.
  • Ends with two large extinctions.

PALEOGENE PERIOD

  • 66-23 million years ago.
  • Land- forests, rodents and reptiles.
  • Water- fish.
  • Reptiles go extinct.

NEOGENE PERIOD

  • 23-2.6 million years ago.
  • Land- dinosaurs.
  • Water- trilobite and sharks.

QUATERNARY PERIOD

  • Land- tiger, elephants..
  • Water- sharks, whales, dolphins, fish..
  • Most recent ice age.
