Chapter 8
Karana and her brother are alone on the island.They wondered if the ship would come back. The next day Karana found her brother dead, the pack of wild dogs had killed him.

Chapter 9
Karana was burning the houses in the village. She decided to look for weapons to defend her self.She started to look for the chest that the people brought with them. When she found it,she found beautiful beds and necklaces. Then she decided she did not need them and threw them in the ocean.

Chapter 10
Karana decides to leave the island. After a while, her hands start to bleed. She saw dolphins ( which means good omen)
and keeps on going. After a couple of days she goes back to the island.

Chapter 11
Karana decides to never leave the island. She would wait until the white men came back. So she decides to build a house.

Karana starts to make the fence, so she can store all of the things she needs.Then she finds bull elephant .She needs their oil and teeth,for lamps and spears.
