Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
I believe this means that if you sacrifice something and become “poor in spirit “ you will be invited to the kingdom of God. If you have an abundance of paper and you see someone that has none, you must share with them even if you feel sad afterwards. “Poor in Spirit” means sad or disappointed.
Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted.
You may mourn after a loss, but God will always take care of you. This beatitude could be telling you to comfort friends or family after the loss of a loved one. God is taking them to a better place, and they will see them someday.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land.
I believe that this means being solemn and kind is a path to a great life. This could also mean that if you are not obnoxious you will be welcomed to heaven. Being willing to listen to god and having plenty of wisdom can be an example of “meek”.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
This means that you should always be kind and just. If you constantly seek righteousness you will be rewarded by God. Bill Gates Donates billions of dollars to charities, which is a very righteous thing to do.
Blessed are the merciful for they shall be shown mercy.
Being kind and having mercy for others is a good thing to do. I also believe this means that being compassionate can lead to heaven. If you donated clothes, shoes, or food to a drive it would be showing mercy for the kids that don’t have any.
Blessed are the pure of heart for they shall see god.
If you have a good soul you will go to heaven and be loved by God. If you always put others before others you will be loved by everyone. Jesus is Pure of heart so he asked his dad to not get mad at the Romans who crucified him.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God
Always maintain peace. Help people put aside their differences and resolve conflicts. Jesus always did this and that is why you should always follow the gospels.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
This could be in reference to the crucifixion of Jesus. This means that if you do good and get in trouble as a sacrifice you will go to heaven. Doing good to god will lead you to his kingdom.
