CONJUNCTION

  • Conjunction links words,phrases,and clauses.
  • Example:I ate pizza and the pasta. Call the movers when you are ready.

PREPOSITION

  • A preparation links nouns,pronouns and phrases to other words in a sentence.
  • Example:The book is on the table

ADVERB

  • A adverb can modify a verb, an adjective, another adverb, a phrase, or a clause.
  • The seamstress quickly made the mourning clothes

VERB

  • A verb or compound verb tells something about the subject of the sentence and express actions, events, or states of being. The verb or compound verb is the critical element of the predicate of a sentence
  • Ex:He stood on the porch

PRONOUN

  • A pronoun can replace a noun or another pronoun. You use pronouns like "he", "which", "none", and "you" to make your sentences less cumbersome and less representives.
  • Ex:I was glad to find the bus pass in the bottom of the green knapsack.

NOUN

  • A noun is a person,place,thing or idea
  • Ex:Many patriots of this period were also writers

ADJECTIVE

  • An adjective modifies a noun or a pronoun by describing identifying or quantifying words.
  • Ex: the small boat foundered on the wine dark sea.

INTERJECTIONS

  • Is a word used to express a particular emotion or sentiment on the part of the speaker.
  • Ahem- the sound of someone clearing their throat and means "attention" or "listen.
