REFLECTIONS

  • Possibly narrow the topics for research choices.
  • Share some of the work between home and school. Once each section is complete, have final copy done at home.
  • Bring volunteers or peers into our rooms for help with organizing, writing, revising, and editing.
  • Good idea to work on pages like the title page and author page first to ease students into building their book.
  • Encourage students to print photos at home if possible.
  • Start with 10 big questions. This worked well to focus research.
  • Share topics with parents to get them involved.
