"I want to see you again tonight but I'm willing to wait all night and much of tomorrow" (Green 377).

Augustus liked Hazel and she was in need of someone like him. Augustus is the complete opposite of Hazel. Augustus is always joyful,
He has one leg that he lost from cancer.
He enjoys spending time with hazel, his presence makes her feel stronger.

"I'm in love with you...I couldn't say anything back I just looked at him and let him look at me until he nodded, lips pursed, turned away and set his head on the window" (Green 154).

Hazel couldn't accept the fact that somebody loved her, she always believed she was useless. When Gus told her that he loved her she didn't know what to say she just ignored it and didn't accept the fact that she wasn't useless anymore, she made an impact on someone's life.

Augustus told Hazel that he loved her, she didn't say anything back, he felt dejected but he knows that she will warm up to him eventually. Agustus came to a conclusion that he will never stop loving her.

"I used my wish on you Hazel Grace" (Green 189).

Hazel Grace had always wanted to go to Amsterdam ever since Augustus and she read a book that never had a ending. The author disappeared to Amsterdam. Their goal is to find him and learn the ending of the book. Cancer patients all have one wish that they get granted. Agustus used his wish to grant Hazel the trip of a lifetime to visit their favorite author (not for long).

"I disavow everything in that putrid novel" (Green 190).

Their favorite author Vanhouten disses them. Anger aroused out of Hazel and they stormed out. They decided to go to the Anne Frank home and at the top floor they kissed for the first time. Hazel then realized that she loves Augustus back. After they talked for a while Augustus told Hazel that he had terminal cancer, again, and only will live for a few months. Hazel was astonished that Agustus, the strong joyous person she knew, would soon become weak and frail.

"You gave me forever within the numbered days, and I am grateful" (Green 260)

Even though Gus became weak and frail, Hazel still stood by him. Hazel realized that Gus made her strong and she can be grateful for that forever. They both have no regrets in their decision to love each other because it brought both of them great happiness.

"You don't choose if you get hurt in this world, but you do have some say in who hurts you. I like my choices. I hope she likes hers. I do agustus. I do" (Green 313).

Hazel read about how Gus had no regrets loving her. Hazel came to a conclusion that she loved her choice and never regretted being with Gus because he changed her for the better. Gus made her strong, she went from depressed and lonely to a strong girl.
