After dinner Armstrong Neilson said goodnight to his parents and went off to bed. As he was looking through his bedroom window he saw a shooting star. During that night he was thinking, what was up in the big, dark, cloudy sky above him? The next day he is hit with troubling news from his parents. As he comes down stairs for breakfast his parents call him into the living room. All across the floor lay a bunch of boxes. He is puzzled at first, and then realized that he might be moving. He wasn't wrong because his dad stated,"Armstrong, we have to move."

"But why do we have to move dad?"Armstrong stated sadly.
"Your mother and I cannot afford the house son." Armstrong's dad said truthfully.
"But I am going to be leaving all of my friends; I don't want to do that." He expressed sorrowfully. There was no more arguing after that. He ate breakfast and went upstairs to start packing before they leave in just two weeks.

They finally move, and in just one week he will be going to a new school. Armstrong is a little nervous about going to a new school because he will not have any of his friends and his grades may drop. He starts school and on his first day he made friends in no time. His grades were fine until a few assignments popped up throughout the year. His dad said," I understand that your grades are low since you just came into the year, but you should try asking for help."
"Yes dad I understand, I am just scared of what my friends will think of me because of my grades." Armstrong assumed.

"Don't worry about what your friends think of you because they shouldn't base you off of your grades in the first place," His dad said strongly.
"Your right dad I am just still a little cautious over these grades." Armstrong said.
"Armstrong, if you are still cautious of your grades then do not tell anybody and go to the counselor so he or she can help you." Armstrong's dad responded. Armstrong agreed to his dad and the next morning at school he went off to go find a counselor. He found one and they talked about his grades for 45 minutes. The counselor said they would meet tomorrow with the teachers he was having trouble with.

The next day he got pulled out of his lunch to go to the office to talk to his teachers. His English teacher said,"Armstrong, having a C+ is not too far from having a B-. You only have a C+because you got a bad grade on your vocabulary test which was only a C-; you had a B- before. I have confidence you can move it back up."
His Math teacher say,"Armstrong you have a B-what is wrong with that."
"Nothing I suppose, but you just set such high expectations I want to show you I can meet them." Armstrong replied.
"I do set high expectations, but for you to come int the middle of the year in high school with things moving quickly, a B- in my class for you is no big deal." The math teacher stated.

The next week Armstrong checked his grades and saw three As' in science, history, and P.E class, then two B-s' in English and Spanish, finally one B in math. He was very proud to see those grades because his G.P.A is now a 3.5. His mom and dad are also very glad because now he is back on track with grades and his confidence is built back up to the top. On his next two tests he has gotten As' and he is super happy. But the next week something troubling happens.

Armstrong meets a new friend, but he is not nice. He had heard some rumors that this boy named Travis is very mean. Armstrong tries to avoid him as much as possible. Report cards are coming next week and Armstrong is so happy to see what's in his hands. He walks out his class room with the report card in his hands and accidentally bumps into Travis. Fear is spread all across his face while Armstrong says sorry, and then WOOSH! Travis grabs Armstrong's report card and rips it in half. He was so scared he walked away in a rush. He goes to the counselor and said, "Hi, I lost my report in the wind and it landed in the wet grass. May I get a new one?" There was a long pause; but the counselor said yes and he was off the hook. The next day Travis got suspended because he let off a stink bomb in class. Armstrong felt bad but was relieved because he did not have to deal with him again.

It's mid-May, near the end of 12th grade for Armstrong. He already knows what collage he wants to go to, he wants to go to San Diego State University. He has been saving up since 10th grade. He is cut short 100 dollars, but his dad helps him and he finally affords collage so he can reach his dream. That dream is to become an astronaut. He goes to collage to learn more math and science than anything else. He has been waiting for a long time to meet his dream. After six years of collage he becomes a part of N.A.S.A in the astronaut field. He finally sets foot on the moon on July 20, 1969.
