ENVIRONMENTAL

  • 85% of the population(worldwide) lives in the driest parts of the planet(Northern Africa/Southern Asia)
  • 6-8 million people die annually from natural disasters and water-related diseases
  • A few years ago it was predicted that pollution from 2006-2030 would increase by 44%

POVERTY

  • 589 million people in Africa live without electricity
  • 80% of the population relies on biomass such as wood,charcoal, or poop to burn to cook food
  • 738 million people globally lack access to clean water especially those in Africa

WAR(CHILD SOLDIERS)

  • 200,000-300,000 children are soldiers in Africa alone
  • Not all children are used to fight: they cook,clean,and are used as sex slaves(mostly females)
  • Lots of the children lack in their basic needs such as food and water
  • They have little to no access to health care

EDUCATION

  • The lack of clean water causes disease making children too sick to go to school
  • Lots of kids have to help get money or food so they can't go to school
  • Child soldiers aren't aloud to go to school
  • Once girls hit puberty and start their period, of the school do not have proper toilets they are forced to drop out of school

CRIME

  • Almost all of the 54 countries in Africa are corrupt with a drug problem
  • Drugs are promoted by soldiers,war,gangs,etc
  • The drug issue in Africa is tied to terrorist groups and the drugs are being sold to Southern Europe and Asia for more profit
