To help fight poverty in the US, a raise in the minimum wage is needed. Without a raise, poverty will keep growing in the US, this raise will not only help fight poverty but it will also benefit the government, more people earning more money means more money being spent, therefore helping the economy.

Raising the federal minimum wage over the next few years would be an important first step in helping the working poor climb out of poverty, while injecting more money into the economy.
