LOCATION
The plains lived in the middle of present day America
From the Mississippi river to the Rocky Mountains
Over time, the plains divided into two parts eastern and western plains

ANIMALS
The plains depended on Horses and Buffalo to survive
Horses were the main war animal for a lot of tribes in the plains
While Buffalo sheltered them with there skin and helped them transport things
They both were used for food

HOUSES
Plains used grass earth and bark called Lodges
They settled near rivers for easier access of resources
Hunting tribes lived in teepees all the time
Teepees were easy to take down and build up
It was the women's job to put up teepees

The plains usually assigned chiefs to specific ereas
The chiefs would meet up and discuss important events
The chiefs were decided by act and leader ship

NOMADS AND TRAVOIS
The people of the plains were nomads
A nomad is a person who moves and lives in different places
Nomads used Travois to carry things
A travois was similar to a sled-It helped nomads carry belongings

CLIMATE
On the eastern planes the dry land made it possible to farm well
On the western planes the dry land made it difficult to farm
That is why they had to split up and live different life styles-climate

THE COMANCHE
The Comanche were fierce warriors and they used there resources well
The Comanche government was very strong
They divided into groups and had chiefs for each group
The Comanche became one of the most powerful tribes
