IMPACTS OF ABBASID DYNASTY

  • Changed view of political status and favoritism of Arabs.
  • Relied heavily on Persian techniques of statecraft to expand the empire
  • Appointed governors to rule provinces
  • Did not conquer much land
  • Turned Baghdad into a huge trading center

IMPACTS FROM THE DYNASTY

  • Centralized authority
  • Similar to Persia
  • Quran- holy book
  • Sharia - moral and religious law

  • Uluma - religious leaders
  • Qadis - moral leaders
  • Qadis court system
  • No social class because Abbasids were not bias towards anyone

GOVERNMENT

  • Ulumas and Qadis were given power to centralize the moral system
  • Because the dynasty was ruled by moral rules,it was very important

SOCIAL IMPACTS

  • Judged people by religion and morality
  • Government was open to anyone
  • Moved capital to Baghdad (increased trade)
