PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Abby Ferguson

Hi everyone!
I am sorry I could not be here today to meet you all. I look forward to the next class, but in the meantime, here is a bit about myself...
I have chosen to use Haiku Deck as my presentation platform.

My Family

This is my husband Ryan, son Ben and daughter Madison. This is on our annual trip to the Valley for apple picking. Ben is now 5 in grade primary and Madison is 7 in grade two. I won't mention the other ages!

Timberlea, N.S.

We live near the Brunello Golf Course that offers many outdoor adventures all year round, which we love to participate in. My kids are becoming avid golfers!

Inverness, NS

I grew up in Inverness, Cape Breton. In the past few years it has transformed from a sleepy town to a booming golf destination. On the left is the amazing beach with the warm gulf waters, and on the right, Cabot Links Golf Course. A great place to grow up, and to now spend our summers.

Family Fans...

We love the Jays...made it to our first game last summer!

Travel

My husband and I love to travel. This is our honeymoon in Santorini, many moons ago...many of our travel destinations today involve more kid-friendly locations, but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Gorsebrook Jr High School, Halifax

I have been both teacher (ELA and SS) and acting vice principal at Gorsebrook Jr High for 13 years. And, as you can see, a member of our staff hockey team. My one and only appearance was fun!

Study Leave

I was fortunate to receive a full-year study leave from the HRSB this school year to complete my M.Ed. in Leadership at Acadia University. I am currently working on my last two courses of my degree and will finish the end of June 2017! It has been a fantastic year, but I will enjoy returning to Gorsebrook in September. I miss by students and colleagues. My plan for next year is to complete the Leadership Development Program through the HRSB which then enables me to apply for full-time VP positions.

Final thoughts...

I am looking forward to learning more about the various assistive technologies available so that all students can receive the education they need to continue to grow.
