Abram, who would later be named Abraham , spread the belief in one God , called monotheism, throughout Jerusalem, and this is the foundation of Judaism.

When Abram was about fifty years old, God spoke to him and established a covenant with him. God told Abram to move to Canaan.

God spoke to Abram again. God told him that he would be a father of many great nations, and changed Abram's name to Abraham , which means father of many.

God also changed Sarai's name, who is Abraham's wife, to Sarah, which means princess.

When Sarah was 90 years old and Abraham was 100 years old, they had their son, who was named Isaac .

Sarah and Abraham gave birth to their son, Isaac. When Isaac was a baby, God asked Abraham to slay
him at an alter. Right before Abraham did, God provided him with a lamb to sacrifice.

Isaac went on to marry a woman named Rebecca, and she gave birth to her son who was named Jacob.
The descendants of Jacob, who was Abrahams grandson, were the Israelites.

The Israelites later divided into twelve tribes and became a great nation. As you can see, God kept his promise
