EARLY LIFE

  • He was born on February 12 1809
  • His parents where Thomas Lincoln and Nancy Hanks Lincoln
  • He had two siblings older sister Sarah and younger brother Thomas
  • His brother died while his mom was giving birth

SCHOOL AND EDUCATION

  • He self taught himself how to read and write
  • He was the only one in his family to learn how to read and write
  • He self taught himself law by reading "The Laws Of England" by Willian Backstone
  • When he was 18 he attended John T. Stuart law firm

LEADERSHIP

  • One major thing he did was issue the emancipation proclamation
  • In 1863 he ran for senate and lost
  • He ran and lost 8 elections for multiple things and lost every one
  • He chose a strong cabinet for his election

LEGACY

  • He president during the civil war
  • Like I said he issued the emancipation proclamation That ended mostly all slavery
  • When he ran fir president he got over 55 percent of the votes
