  • No school, because Abraham taught himself to read. He taught himself to be a lawyer ta house.
  • He studied what he should do--thought of learning the blacksmith trade--thought of trying to study law

  • he was doing a lawyer and a state representative.
  • Lincoln worked as a boatman, store clerk, surveyor, militia soldier, and became a lawyer in Illinois

Reason For Running For President

  • Lincoln had left politics but was brought back into politics because of the Dred Scott case & the Kansas Nebraska Act.
  • 1. He was the only president to have a patent: Lincoln invented a device to free steamboats that ran aground. 2. He practiced law without a degree. Lincoln had about 18 months of formal schooling.
