THE BEGINNING

  • April 1, 1908 in brooklyn
  • First born of seven children
  • Parents were uneducated jewish immigrants

  • Married Bertha Goodman, his first cousin
  • Studied psychology
  • Began teaching full time at Brooklyn college

served as chair of the psychology department at Brandeis (1951-1969). He met Kurt Goldstein there (who originated the idea of self-actualization in his book The Organism (1934).

Moslow died in a semi-retirement home in California on June 8 1970 of a heart attack after years of poor health.
