How to define Absolute Dating:
Absolute Dating is the process of determining an approximate computed age in archaeology and geology.

How to define Radioactive Decay:
Radioactive decay, also known as nuclear decay or radioactivity, is the process by which a nucleus of an unstable atom loses energy by emitting ionizing radiation.

What is Half-Life?
A half-life is the time required for half of an elements atoms in a sample to change to the decay product.

How can we determine the number of half-lives that have occurred?
We look at the decay-product ratio, which is the ratio between the mass of a radioactive element and it's decay product.
