what led to pol pots rule?
By 1975, the U.S. had withdrawn its troops from Vietnam. Cambodia's government, plagued by corruption and incompetence, also lost its American military support. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Pol Pot's army, consisting of teenage peasant guerrillas, marched into Phnom Penh and on April 17 effectively seized control of Cambodia.

how did he treat his people?
He treated them poorly because he killed over 2 million of them for "tests"

How did he behave?
pol pot did not behave like a ruler because he treated his people like they weren't even there and killed almost all of them and barely fed them.

any extreme rules or regulations?
those that complained about work or broke rules were usually tortured in a detention center and then killed.Under Pol Pot, the state controlled all aspects of a person’s life. Money, private property, jewelry, gambling, most reading material and religion were outlawed; agriculture was collectivized; children were taken from their homes and forced into the military; and vocabulary and clothing were laid down.

did he lose his power?
yes In 1997 a Khmer Rouge splinter group captured Pol Pot and placed him under house arrest. He died in his sleep on April 15, 1998, due to heart failure.
