PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Sulfuric Acid
Sulfuric acid is classified as a strong acid, ionizing almost completely in water.
Sulfuric acid is the most abundant product of the chemical industry. It is used in the refining of metals and in the manufacture of a wide variety of substances. It is used for the "pickling" of steel to retard corrosion, in the refinement of petroleum, and in the manufacture of fertilizers.

Chemical properties-
Molecular weight:98.07848 g/mol
Molecular Formula:H2O4S
Chemical names:SULFURIC ACID; Sulphuric acid; Oil of vitriol; Acidum sulfuricum; Dihydrogen sulfate
Physical properties:
Boiling point- 337 degrees Celsius
Melting point- 10 degrees Celsius
Odorless, Clear, colorless, oily liquid Dense, colorless to dark brown depending on purity. Sulfuric acid (alternative spelling sulphuric acid) is a highly corrosive strong mineral acid with the molecular formula H2SO4.

Phosphoric Acid H3PO4
Phosphoric acid is classified as a weak acid since it ionizes weakly in water. Phosphoric acid is found in soft drinks. In more concentrated solutions, it is used for rust removal and for the preparation of steel surfaces for painting.

Chemical properties-
Molecular Formula:H3O4P
Molecular Weight:97.995182 g/mol
Chemical names: Phosphoric acid; ORTHOPHOSPHORIC ACID; Phosphorsaeure
Physical properties-
Colorless, sparkling liquid or transparent, crystalline solid, depending on concentration and temperature. At 20 deg C the 50% and 75% strengths are mobile liquids, the 85% is of syrupy consistency; the 100% acid is in the form of crystals.
Odorless, boiling point: 407 degrees Celsius melting point: 42 degrees Celsius.
Soluble in water, alcohol; soluble in 8 volumes of 3:1 ether:alcohol mixture

Calcium Hydroxide Ca(OH)2-
Calcium hydroxide is considered a strong to medium strength base. It will completely dissociate in solutions of less than 0.01 M, but weakens as concentration increases.

Chemical properties-
Molecular Formula: CaH2O2
Molecular Weight: 74.09268 g/mol
Chemical names:calcium dihydroxide, calcium hydrate, hydralime, hydrated lime.
Physical properties-
White, odorless, powder, solubility 0.2%g not soluble in water, density 2.24
Boiling point- decomposes
Melting point- 1076 degrees Fahrenheit

Methylamine CH5N
Methylamine is a weak Lewis base. any of three derivatives of ammonia in which one or all of the hydrogen atoms are replaced by methyl groups, especially a gas, CH 5 N, with an ammonialike odor, the simplest alkyl derivative of ammonia and, like the latter, forming a series of salts.

Chemical properties-
Molecular Formula:CH5N
Molecular Weight: 31.0571 g/mol
Chemical names: methanamine, MeNH2, methyl ammonia, methyl amine, and aminomethane.
Physical properties-
GasVapor, Liquid, flammable Colorless gas, Fish or ammonia-like odor.
Boiling point:-6.3 degrees Celsius
Melting point: -93.4 degrees Celsius
Solubility:1 vol of water at 12.5 deg C dissolves 1154 vol of gas, at 25 deg C dissolves 959 vol of gas. Density:0.6624 g/cu
