Acidic rain caused by atmospheric pollution

What is it?

  • When the atmosphere contains high mounts of sulfuric and nitric acid
  • This acid mixes with the rain to create acid rain
  • occurs in both wet and dry forms

How can we prevent Acid Rain?

  • use coal that contains less sulfur while burning coal
  • wash coal to remove some of the sulfur
  • use alternate energy sources, renewable energy sources
  • conserve energy
  • car pool
