ACIDS

• Acids are found in most of the products we eat like lemons or oranges
• Acids also tend to be sour and may conduct electricity
• But most acids are strong and may damage fabric, skin and paper
• Some even react to metals very strongly

BASES

• Bases feel slippery and taste bitter like everyday cleaning products such as soup or oven cleaner
• Bases are very strong and can destroy materials in a chemical action
• Bases are in a average persons body and do not cause harm ,our blood is one of those basic solutions we need to survive
• Bases are also known as a alkaline

NEUTRAL

• A neutral item is a place in between the acids and bases
• Neutral items are items that can cause no chemical harm to anything
• Neutral has a purple color to it on most scientific scales
• One example of a neutral substance is water
• A neutral object will not change any color other than purple

Ph

• Ph is a negative log of a hydrogen ion
• A ph less than 7 is acidic and more than 7 is basic
• 7 is considered a non active part of the ph scale

PH SCALE

• A ph scale is a scale that measures in hydrogen ions
• A ph scale is for showing separation between acids and bases
• A higher number than 7 is known as a strong base but below 7 is known as a strong acid

BUFFER

• A buffer is a solution that resists change in ph when acid or alkaline is added
• Buffers are in our system all the time
