THE MEANING

  • The meaning of acts 2 is that the Holy Spirit is always within us.
  • The disciples are present and tell everyone that the Holy Spirit is present.

THE AUTHOR AND DATE

  • The author is Luke
  • It was dated back to the day of the Pentecost

HISTORICAL REFERENCES

  • There was a historical reference dating back to David
  • David was buried at his death and he now is with God at his side.
  • The second historical context was talking about Jesus.
  • Jesus arose from the dead so all our sins could be gone

  • All throughout the passage, Peter is speaking to all those who live in Jerusalem.
  • He also says that there are people who speak every language
  • God speaks to them all in their language

  • All we have to do is get baptized to be with God forever.

  • He then baptized three thousand people to join God's family

  • Priests baptize people of all ages every week.
  • They preach the word of God then baptize others.
