WHAT IS ADHD?
ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER
CAUSES
- Usually begins during childhood
- Diagnosed behavior of children
- Diagnosed in more boys than girls
- A combination of genes and enviornmental play roles
SYMPTOMS
- Has difficulty keeping attention during tasks or play
- Does not seem to listen when spoken to directly
- Is easily distracted
- Fidgets with hands or feet or squirms in seat
- Leaves seat when remaining seated is expected
TREATMENT
- Set specific, appropriate goals.
- Start medicine and/or talk therapy.
- Check for medical conditions that can cause similar symptoms.
- Medicines
