ADOPT A GRANDFRIEND
BRIGHTEN THE DAYS OF YOUR COMMUNITY'S SENIOR CITIZENS

WHY IS IT A PROBLEM THAT NEEDS ADDRESSED?
- The elderly in our community, who are either in retirement homes or live by themselves are not often visited, including by the youth of Chadron, and that can be a quiet, sad and lonely life

WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM THIS?
- the elderly who have been "adopted"
- the youth who are involved in the project
- the community of Chadron

WHAT IS THE GOAL OF MY PROJECT?
- to brighten the days of the elderly
- get the youth of Chadron involved and associated with the community's senior citizens

WHAT IS THE TIME FRAME AND IS IT FEASIBLE?
- at least one to two visits a week for one month, and if you enjoy visiting them you can continue to visit on your own
- yes, it is very feasible because if you need anything at all it'd be either card games, bingo or a book

WHAT IS MY PLAN OF ACTION?
- call the Crest View Healthcare Community Center of Chadron and make sure weekly visits to their members are okay
- make sure each participant has the necessities to entertain and accompany their Grandfriend
- have each participant adopt a Grandfriend and make a schedule for each visit the rest of the month

WHAT ENTITIES ARE INVOLVED?
- the Crest View Healthcare Community Center of Chadron
- the students in my class
- any other youth community members who would enjoy adopting a Grandfriend

WHAT RESOURCES AND MATERIALS WILL BE NEEDED?
- card games, bingo, books to read, finger nail polish, cookies, etc.
- all our material will be brought from the people who are adopting a Grandfriend or will be donated if needed
