ADRENAL MEDULLA

RACHEL, RORY, & CORBIN

General Health & Behavior:
-Helps a person cope with physical and emotional stress.
-Increases heart rate and can squeeze blood vessels.

Location:
-Located at the top of the kidney.
-In the center of the Adrenal Gland surrounded by the Adrenal Cortex.

Hormones:
-Epinephrine (Adrenaline)
-Norepinephrine (Noradrenaline)
-Dopamine

Main Role:
-Relieve stress by increasing heart rate and manipulating blood pressure.

Problems:
-If it fails you can get Addison's disease.
-If damaged you wouldn't be able to relieve stress easily.
-Cushing's disease
-High blood pressure and heart disease.
