WHAT IS ADRENALINE?

  • a stress hormone that is secreted from the adrenal glands
  • prepares the body for a fight-to-flight situation
  • an adrenaline rush is a sudden increase in the secretion of adrenaline
  • the cause could be a physical threat
  • other causes could be an imagined threat, heart failure, anxiety etc.

WHY DO WE HAVE ADRENALINE RUSHES

  • Helps us when we're in danger
  • It heightens our senses and physical ability

HOW DOES ADRENALINE EFFECT HOMEOSTASIS?

  • In dangerous situations adrenaline can save us
  • You don't feel pain when you have adrenaline flowing
