Death/Injury

  • For example, in the Civil war 359,528 soldiers died.
  • 275,175 Soldiers were injured 

Deaths/Injuries of Soldiers in Civil War 

  • For example, in the Civil War took 359,528 lives. 
  • Wounded 275,175 soldiers

SEPARATION of Families

  • Many families were separated when  men went off to war. 
  • When the war was over there were very few members left. 
  • Some families could not be reunited even after the war ended.

Debt

  • The Civil War cost the U.S more than 15 million dollars. 
  • After the war was over the U.S was drowning in debt and corruption.

DESTRUCTION of Cities/TOWNS

  • Many battles take place in cities or towns.
  • Therefore, after the battle is over much destruction is left behind
  • The more damage there is the more it will cost to fix. 
  • For example, Sherman's March to Sea practically destroyed all of the south.

  • Land gain can be an outcome of war depending on what your figting for. 
  • The Revolutionary war gave the U.S the 13 Coloinies

freedom/Independance

  • War can gain independence from a mother country.
  • For example, the Revolutionary War gave the U.S freedom from Britain.
