Why is he important?
Aesop is important because of his fables he wrote many years ago, that were included in Greece's oral tradition until they were written in a book. 1

What is Aesop's background?
He was born in 600 B.C, but his death date is unknown. He first started off as a slave, but later found an interest in telling fables, which eventually were known as Aesop's Fables. 2

Aesop's Fables are a set of stories, where animals act like humans (they walk talk and stand on two legs) that often have a moral at the end. 3
