PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Why Our Group Moved.
The Afghan migration happened because of the rise and fall of a soviet invasion, the Taliban taking over and there fall, and a civil war. Also they have a thing called Hijra. It requires you to leave its country.
Where They Went
The immigrants went to many places like Pakistan, United States, Asia, Canada, Australia, and many neighboring countries.
Obstacles
The immigrants had a huge cultural change. They moved to countries like the United States, Canada, Australia, ect. Islam was not really practiced in some countries.
Influences
They showed many countries a new religion Islamic, many foods, and a new style of clothing.
First Wave
The first wave of immigrants happened in 1979. About six million people were forced to leave Afghanistan. About three point five million went to Pakistan, two million went to Iran, and the rest of the immigrants went to many different countries.
Second Wave
The second waved happened because the soviet military withdrew from Afghanistan in 1989. The people who supported the Soviets were forced to leave including the deposed president. The immigrants in the first migration came back to Afghan and a civil war started. Because of the civil war five million left the country and eight hundred thousand went somewhere within the borders.
Third Wave
The end of the civil war and the take over of the Taliban in 1994 started the third wave. The Taliban are strict with their laws. They outlawed some foods and music, religions, and women's rights. Therefore many women, the educated, religious minorities, and political moderates left in fear of Taliban persecution.
Fourth Wave
The fourth wave was caused by the fall of the Taliban, but there are some small controlled Taliban areas. Making people leave in fear of being bombed by NATO. But some people did move back when the Taliban was minimized.
