POPULATIONN

  • Egypt has a total population of 82.06 million people.
  • The city Cairo has a population of 7,734,614 .
  • The city Alexandria has a population of 3,811,516
  • Egyptian 98%. Berber, Nubian, Bedouin, and Beja 1%.
  • Greek, Armenian, and other European (primary Italian and French) 1%.

WAR
First Turco-Egyptian War (1831–1833) was brought about by Muhammad Ali Pasha's demand to the Ottoman Empire for control of Arab Greater Syria, as reward for his assistance in Crete against Greece. As a result, Muhammad Ali's forces temporarily gained control of Syria, and advanced as far north as Adana.

NATURAL RESOURCES AND AGRICULTURE

  • Egypt natural resources include iron ore, phosphate, limestone, manganese,talc, zinc, asbestos and gypsum.
  • Also oil and gas

The civilization of Ancient Egypt was indebted to the Nile River and its dependable seasonal flooding. Egyptians are credited as being one of the first groups of people to practice agriculture on a large scale. Their farming practices allowed them to grow staple food crops, especially grains such as wheat and barley, and industrial crops, such as flax and papyrus.
The Egyptians grow rice, wheat, sugar cane, oranges, tomatoes, and cotton.

Government.
Egypt currently has a republic form of government and the current leader is President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

PHYSICAL FEATURES

  • Egypt, covering 1,001,449 square kilometers of land, is about the same size as Texas and New Mexico combined.
  • Libyan Desert, Sinai Peninsula, Nile River, Nile Valley and Nile Delta are Egypt's major physical features. Egypt climate type is savanna climate.

EDUCATION

  • Egypt has an extensive education system that outstrips all others in the Middle East and North Africa, and where even tertiary education is free. The compulsory primary education program follows kindergarten at age 4. Primary school that begins at age six takes 6 years and preparatory school another 3.

EGYPT INDUSTRY

  • Major industrial products included textiles, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food processing, petroleum, construction, cement, metals, and light consumer goods. The clothing and textiles sector is the largest industrial employer.

Egypt responds to UPR human rights recommendations

  • In a UN Human Rights Council meeting in Geneva Friday, Egypt’s representatives stated that Egypt has fully accepted 224 and partially accepted 23 of the United Nation’s Universal Periodical Review recommendations. In the Universal Periodical Review last November, 122 countries outlined a set of human rights recommendations to Egypt. Egypt said its current constitution is “a victory for the goals of the revolution” adding that it supports human rights and dignity.
