The Red Oat Grass is a Autotroph that gets it's energy directly and the Lion, cheetah, zebra and the gazelle all receive it's energy indirectly. The grass is important because without the grass it wouldn't be able to feed the herbivores and the food web wouldn't be the same.
Photosynthesis Equation: 6CO2+6H20-----C6H1206+6CO2

Respiration Equation:
C6H1206+6CO2---6CO2+6H2O

With the absence of grass, the savanna wouldn't be the same. If the herbivores cant eat the grass they will die, once the herbivores die the predators will have no food and will die as well.
