PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Reason for the Voyage:
The reasons for the voyage to the new world are because of all the riches and resources in the Americas and the free labor we could get from the slaves. The two goals for this voyage for our country of Spain, are to explore new lands for better resources such as gold to make us more desirable to trade with for other countries. The other goal of this voyage is the gain of respect and superior ness over rival countries such as Portugal and England. After Christopher Columbus founded new land in the Americas, we believe that their is still good, useful lands to be founded by our explorers. Our monarch believes that this is the best decision for the fate of Spain. This is also a good thing for me as an explorer. I will become richer and my name will be well known throughout all of Europe.
Things Needed For Voyage:
The things that will be needed for this voyage to the Americas would be many crew member willing to be patience and be able to endure suffering in the cold, wet nights that we will face. Also, we will need durable ships to sail on to explore this unknown lands. Other essentials that we need are clean, drinkable water and non parish able food that will last for a while. We will also need weapons such as muskets or swords for protection.
Plan for Voyage:
The plan for this voyage is to straight shoot it just as Christopher Columbus did during his voyage to the Bahamas Islands. Instead, this time we plan on ending up in the Americas instead of the Indies where Columbus had anticipated on going. The problems expected on this voyage could be crew members dying due to sickness or other issues such as ships wrecking. We could also run out of drinkable water or food to eat. And we could get lost at sea and not find out way to the Americas islands. But that is a chance we will take.
Cultures:
The cultures that we would bring to the Americas would be Christianity and our government system along with taxes. Something we will bring form their cultures will be spices and wealth from our new lands.

“Justin Winsor
In 1892, historian Justin Winsor was one of the first American writers to criticize Columbus.
He [Winsor] portrayed Columbus as a daring mariner with great powers of persuasion and extraordinary dedication to his goals. Winsor also revealed Columbus as an inept administrator, so sure of his own rectitude that he openly disobeyed royal instructions and brought many of his troubles on himself. Among his other failings, Columbus unashamedly waged war against the native inhabitants of the Caribbean and enslaved hundreds of them, hoping to profit from a transatlantic slave trade. Anonymous”
