THE GRANGE MOVEMENT

  • Was founded in 1867
  • Social club for farmers, to help spread and isolation
  • Urged political & economic reform
  • Purpose of cooperatives was to eliminate the middle man

CAUSE OF THE GRAGER LAWS

  • Rising railroad prices where unfair to farmers and companys
  • They wanted to promote thr fair prices so to the farmers and companys

EFFECTS OF THE GRAGER LAWS

  • To Make prices for rail roads favorable by farmers
  • The laws became well known by being promoted in state politics

  • They fromed the granger to support each other
  • The granges allowed them to buy things cheap
  • They come up with laws to support each other
