This is the Alaska state flag. It is blue to symbolize the beautiful sky's. It has seven stars together to show the shape of the drinking gourd, or the Big Dipper. The last star represents the northern lights.

Alaska became the the 50th state in the United States in 1959. The first governor of the state was Willian A. Egan.
