When psoriasis appears on the scalp, it's called scalp psoriasis.

According to the American academy of dermatology at least 50% of those with plaque psoriasis will experience an outbreak on the scalp.

Scalp psoriasis often requires treatment that's not used to treat psoriasis on other body parts. This is because the scalp skin is thicker then skin on other parts of the body.

Not painful but most embarrassing. Scalp psoriasis dandruff caused by shedding of excess skin cells is more serious than common dandruff. The scalp may shed large silvery scales of skin.

Avoid itching or picking it, to much rubbing or scratching can make scalp psoriasis worse. It can cause bleeding pain and infection.

The disruption of hair follicles, heavy scaling and excessive scratching can cause noticeable hair loss.

The image showed that scalp psoriasis may spill over onto the forehead and even to the face.

There is cream for this stuff, your dermatologist may recommend . However, you may need different treatment for psoriasis on the face because of the skins variety of thickness.

Other treatments for scalp may be oral medication, corticosteroid injections into the scalp, light treatments and softener. Many effective treatments for scalp psoriasis exist.
