  • He invented the first telephone
  • He worked with the deaf, because his wife and mother were deaf

The Telephone
Alexander Graham Bell first toyed around with the microphone which helped with talking into the phone. He had studied with deaf people throughout his life, especially in Boston. He experimented with the telegraph which helped with sending the message. He eventually put the two together and invented the telephone.

Alexander Graham Bell's invention is so significant, because the telephone is something we use everyday to communicate with people from far distances. We learned about this person this chapter, because this is an invention that had a huge affect on everyone. The world would be extremely different if there weren't telephones.
