  • Born as Alfred Bernhard Nobel

OCCUPATIONS

  • Invented dynamite and other explosives
  • Dynamite was used for: blasting tunnels building railways, roads and building Mt.Rushmore
  • Created the Nobel Peace Prize
  • detonating caps- small sensitive primary explosive device generally used to detonate a big explosive
  • Created nitroglycerine which led into fatal injuries of his brother and many other people.

  • In 1842 he moved to St.Petersburg, Russia
  • Spoke 5 languages fluently by the age of 17 English, Russian, French, German,and Swedish

MIDDLE AGED LIFE

  • When his family moved to Russia in 1842 his dad's company was doing very well
  • The factory was for bombs for the war
  • The family returned home except for the 2 brothers
  • Albert started to play with explosives
  • Years after his return in 1867 Alfred Nobel made dynamite on accident.

NOBEL PEACE PRIZE

  • Alfred Nobel created the Nobel peace prize
  • felt guilty for killing innocent people in the explosion in his dad's factory
  • Is awarded to people who have done things in:
  • Chemistry, Physics, Physiology or Medicine, and Literature.
  • Some people who have been awarded are: Martin Luther King Jr. And Nelson Mandela
